My friend started using SiteGround and told me how good they were. He was not wrong. I soon set up my own StartUp plan, upgraded to GrowBig and now host all my websites under their GoGeek plan.
So, what makes using SiteGround for business, magazine and blog WordPress websites so good? Well, for me there are three main factors: service, user-friendly and price …
SiteGround is known for exceptional customer service and rightly so. Available 24/7, by phone, chat or support ticket, they are always eager to help. Most of the time, queries are dealt with there and then, or you are sent links to detailed ‘How To’s.
I also think a really nice touch is seeing the rep’s picture in the chatbox, along with the total amount of customers they have helped. When you’ve finished your chat, you can request a transcript sent to your email.
Easy to Navigate – User Friendly
Recently launched is SiteGround’s new Client Area and Site Tools, which help navigate the admin side of a website. The new system replaces the cPanel view, which was a bit daunting for first-time users
SiteGround offer three shared hosting plans:
The StartUp plan is perfect, for well … startups. This account is great for one website and cheap enough to get you going. Most of my customers have this plan and it works perfectly for them.
When your site(s) grow, you can upgrade to the GrowBig plan, which in my opinion, is where SiteGround excel.
GrowBig is great to grow with your website(s). You can host unlimited websites (depending on usage) and you simply purchase, transfer or point as many domains to the account as you wish.
It’s so convenient to have everything under one roof and saves money … perfect if you’re a serial ‘I have another new website idea‘, type of person.
GoGeek is the plan I currently use. I have numerous high traffic websites and really pleased with the speed and love the fact I have priority support.
As SiteGround is officially recommended by WordPress.org, they offer a hassle-free, Click and Install WordPress feature, along with free WordPress Migration. You can always opt for the Professional Transfer Service to migrate your site, from as little as 24.00 € Excl. VAT per site or free, if you have a GrowBig or GoGeek account.
Setting up a WooCommerce store is just as easy (for new and existing stores).
Other Features …

Daily Backups SiteGround back up your account daily and keep up to 30 copies with options to create instant on-demand backups with the click of a button. The service is free on GrowBig and GoGeek plans and costs 24.95 € Excl. VAT on the StartUp plan.

Staging Tool Making changes on your site has never been easier. Copies can be made of your site in a click to work on and push the changes live with our staging tool. The tool is available on GrowBig and GoGeek plans.
Collaboration Tools – New Their interfaces come with user roles and access rights. On GrowBig and GoGeek plans you can add collaborators to your site. They get their individual log in to the Site Tools, can build or maintain it for you and also contact support.
Are there any bad bits?
Some reviews do criticise SiteGround’s renewal pricing, compared to other providers. You do have the option of purchasing three years hosting (rather than just one) to make it more cost-effective. In my opinion, the pricing reflects the outstanding service and tools you receive, so, it’s worth that little bit extra.
