A simple guide for business owners who want their website to sound human and not like a robot.
Why Your About Page Matters
Let us be honest, most About pages are awkward. Too long. Too vague. Too polished. Or worse… too beige.
But here is the thing: your About page is one of the most visited parts of your website.
People want to know the person behind the business.
They are not looking for your full CV; they are looking for a reason to trust you.
STRUCTURE: The Simple 5-Part Layout
1. A Hello (Not a History Lesson)
Open with something warm, direct, and human.
Instead of “Welcome to my website…” try:
“I help women in business create content that actually feels doable.”
Or
“If you have ever stared at a blank screen wondering what to post — you are in the right place.”
2. Who You Help and How You Help Them
Make it about them first.
“I work with coaches, course creators and women building meaningful businesses online. Helping them show up simply, with smart support from AI, websites, and content strategy.”
3. Why You Do What You Do (Your Story)
This is where “I believe…” lines shine.
Share a glimpse of why this work matters to you. One paragraph is enough.
“I believe women deserve to run their businesses their way — with ease, purpose, and personality.”
4. A Bit of Personality
Add 3–5 things that show you are a real human. Not just a job title.
E.g.
- I live in rural France and believe in a slower, simpler life
- I love the sea, old books, and making things easier for people
- I will always choose tea over coffee (unless I am writing a sales page)
5. A Clear Next Step
This is key — most About pages end with a full stop.
Tell people what to do next:
- Book a call
- Read your blog
- Download your freebie
- Browse your services
“If you are ready to make content feel easy — have a look at my courses or book a Content Clarity Session.”
